Digital Art

This section features a small collection of images originally designed as posters. All are composite images (excepting the bird feeder) in which photographs of animals are transposed over backgrounds taken separately, often many years and miles apart. In Here Boy, for instance, the dog was photographed on a hiking trail in Calgary and then schoolhouse shot in North Buxton, Ontario almost a decade later.

For Ravenswood, the bird was photographed on Vancouver Island’s Pacific Rim National Park, placed against a fish-eyed live oak tree shot in Luckenbach, Texas.

In all cases, the images were processed using aggressive posterization and colour manipulation.
